Zwölferhorn Summit and Panorama-Rundwanderweg

Also known as Zwölferhorn summit und Panorama-Rundwanderweg

The Panorama-Rundwanderweg at the Zwölferhorn summit above St. Gilgen is a circular ridge walk at around 1,500 meters, combining the gondola ascent from St. Gilgen with a marked loop trail that stays above the treeline and circles the summit plateau.

The Panorama-Rundwanderweg is a 90-minute circular ridge walk at the Zwölferhorn summit above St. Gilgen, following the summit plateau once you arrive by gondola from below. The circuit stays above the treeline and gives continuous Salzkammergut panorama: Wolfgangsee directly below, Mondsee and Attersee visible further north, Dachstein glacier on the eastern horizon on clear days. The trail is non-technical and well-marked; bring a wind layer. The gondola return is included in the standard Zwoelferhorn ticket (approx. EUR 25-30 adult). St. Gilgen is 45 minutes by bus from Salzburg; the gondola base is 5 minutes from the boat landing. Combine with the Wolfgangsee boat service for a lake-and-summit full day.
