The Zwoelferhorn gondola rises from St. Gilgen to 1,522 meters in 15 minutes, giving one of the wider views available in the Salzkammergut: the Wolfgangsee directly below, the Schafberg summit to the south, and on clear days the Dachstein glacier on the eastern horizon. The summit meadow is gentle and family-friendly; paragliders launch regularly from the ridge. Return gondola approximately EUR 25-30. St. Gilgen is 45 minutes by bus from Salzburg. The cable car base is 5 minutes from the boat landing, making a combined gondola and boat day straightforward: gondola up, summit walk, gondola down, boat to St. Wolfgang for the Pacher altarpiece, return from Strobl.
