lake in Zuers am Arlberg

Zuersersee

The Zürsersee sits at 1715 meters above Zürs am Arlberg, a small glacially formed lake in a treeless alpine bowl with the Arlberg peaks above it and the ski infrastructure of one of the most expensive ski resorts in Austria all around.

The Zürsersee is a small glacial lake at 1715 meters above Zürs am Arlberg, sitting in an open alpine bowl above one of Austria’s most exclusive ski resorts. In summer, with the lifts quiet and the mountain roads less crowded, it is a straightforward walk or cable car ride to genuinely remote-feeling high alpine terrain. The Seekopfbahn cable car from Zürs gives access without a full ascent; check current operating hours. Zürs am Arlberg is on the Arlberg Pass road between Lech and St. Anton, accessible by bus from Langen am Arlberg rail station. The lake is not suitable for swimming. Combine with Lech am Arlberg for a full Arlberg day in summer.
