Zürs am Arlberg is a small cluster of premium hotels at 1,720 meters on the Arlberg pass road, one of the earliest developed ski resorts in Austria. The Ski Arlberg lift system connects it to Lech, Warth, Schroecken, and St. Anton. The village has no independent restaurant scene or nightlife; hotels operate on half-board or full-board packages. Getting here requires a car from Bregenz (about 80 minutes) or the Arlberg railway tunnel to Langen with a bus connection; the pass road closes in heavy snow. The village closes completely outside ski season. For skiers who want Arlberg terrain with the least possible distraction from skiing, Zürs is the obvious choice over the larger adjacent resorts.
