The Zillertal Radweg is a 31-kilometer flat cycling route from Jenbach to Mayrhofen through the Zillertal valley in Tyrol, following the Ziller river with the high peaks visible at the valley head and the Zillertalbahn narrow-gauge railway running parallel. The route is suitable for ordinary cyclists at a comfortable pace: 3 to 4 hours, mostly flat, with the option to return by train. Jenbach is on the main Innsbruck-Salzburg line, 40 minutes from Innsbruck. Bike rental available in both Jenbach and Mayrhofen. The Zillertalbahn carries bikes on most services; check the current policy at zillertalbahn.at. Riding south to north (Mayrhofen to Jenbach) gives you the mountain views in front of you as you descend, which is the better visual experience.
