Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium

Vorarlberg is a small federal state in western Austria, bordering Switzerland and Liechtenstein, with a musical culture that does not get the attention it deserves compared to Vienna and Salzburg.

The Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium is Vorarlberg’s state music conservatory and public concert venue, located in Feldkirch’s medieval old town. Founded 1977. The conservatory runs a program of student and chamber concerts, typically EUR 10-20 for tickets, check vlk.ac.at. Feldkirch itself is one of Austria’s best-preserved medieval towns and worth a half-day; combine with Schattenburg castle above the Altstadt.
