The Tiergarten Schoenbrunn is the world’s oldest continuously operating zoo, founded in 1752 as a private imperial menagerie and opened to the public the same year. The baroque central pavilion was the Habsburg breakfast room, with animal enclosures arranged around it in a symmetrical pattern. Over 700 species live here today, including giant pandas on loan from China. Located inside the Schoenbrunn Palace park; U4 to Schoenbrunn or Hietzing. Adults approx.
