The Vermuntbahn lifts from Partenen in the inner Montafon to 2,415 meters at the Trominier station, giving access to the Silvretta high-route hiking terrain and the Vermuntsee reservoir landscape. Originally built in 1928 as part of the Illwerke hydroelectric project, it runs as a tourist and hiking lift in summer. Check silvretta-bielerhoehe.at for current schedule. Partenen is at the end of the Montafonerbahn and road, the furthest point accessible from Schruns without climbing.
