Gaschurn is the innermost village in the Montafon valley, sitting below the Silvretta high alpine zone at the mountain end of the valley road. The Silvretta High Alpine Road, open from late May to November, leads from Gaschurn to the Silvretta Stausee reservoir at 2,036 meters, one of the most accessible high-altitude alpine landscapes in Vorarlberg. The village offers traditional accommodation and access to the upper Montafon ski terrain in winter. About 30 minutes from Bludenz by car; local bus connections from Schruns. Best visited in combination with the Silvretta road excursion and the broader Montafon valley.
