The Traun-Ursprung is where the Grundlsee’s lake waters become the Traun River, flowing north through the Salzkammergut to join the Danube at Wels. It’s a short walk from the Grundlsee eastern shore, free, and takes 30–45 minutes including the approach. Combine it with a walk toward the Toplitzsee for a half-day in the upper lake chain above Bad Aussee.
