Park Tivoli is Ljubljana’s main green space, stretching from the city center into wooded hills northwest of the Triple Bridge. The main Jakopic Walk promenade, designed by city architect Joze Plecnik, lines its avenue with rotating outdoor photography exhibitions. Forest trails from the back of the park climb into the hills above the city with views back over the rooftops. The park was established in 1813 under French administration and shaped by the Habsburg period that followed. It’s free, a 10-minute walk from the Triple Bridge, and the most restful alternative to the compact historic center.
