The Tausendeimerberg is a vineyard hill above Spitz an der Donau in the Wachau, named for its legendary production capacity in good vintages. The terraced vineyards face south over the Danube, and the walk up takes 30–45 minutes from the village center. The view of the river bend from the upper vineyard is one of the standard Wachau photographs. Free to walk. Spitz is on the Wachau cycling and hiking route; the Tausendeimerberg is the main viewpoint for the village. Best in September–October during harvest.
