Strandbad Grundlsee is the public bathing area at Goessl at the eastern end of the Grundlsee, the largest lake in the Salzkammergut. From Goessl, boats run to the Toplitzsee (the lake where the SS dumped currency plates and V-weapon test materials in 1945) deeper into the Totes Gebirge. The Grundlsee is colder and less developed than the neighboring Salzkammergut lakes. About 10 km from Bad Aussee by road. Open seasonally in summer.
