Stadtplatz Steyr

Steyr’s triangular Stadtplatz is one of the finest medieval market squares in Austria, anchored by the Bummerlhaus, the best-preserved secular Gothic building in the country. The square sits at the confluence of the Steyr and Enns rivers, built on iron-trade wealth that lasted from the 14th to the 18th century. Steyr is 30 minutes from Linz by direct train. Free to explore; the Ennskai promenade gives the best view of the river junction and the square ensemble.
