Stadtpfarrkirche Schladming

Stadtpfarrkirche Schladming is the parish church of Schladming, standing on the Hauptplatz (main square) of a Styrian town that most people now know as a ski resort but which was, until the 16th century, a significant silver-mining center. The church dates from the 14th century.

Stadtpfarrkirche Schladming is the 14th-century Gothic parish church on Schladming’s Hauptplatz, the main square of a Styrian town that was a significant silver-mining center before it became a ski resort. The church was rebuilt after the town was burned in the aftermath of the miners’ rebellion of 1525. The Hauptplatz itself, with the mountain backdrop, is one of the better-preserved market squares in Styria. Free entry.
