The Church of St. Nicholas in Mala Strana is Prague’s finest Baroque building, constructed 1704-1755 by the Dientzenhofer architects. The ceiling fresco exceeds 1,500 square meters and creates a painted sky illusion that makes the dome appear to open upward. Mozart played the organ here in 1787. Evening concerts in the church are worth attending for the acoustic experience alone.
