Ljubljana’s Cathedral of St. Nicholas (Stolnica sv. Nikolaja) is a 1707 Baroque church designed by Andrea Pozzo, the Jesuit architect who also worked in Vienna and Rome. The interior is one of the finest Baroque spaces in the region, with illusionistic ceiling frescoes and side chapels. Free to visit; open daily. Located at Dolničarjeva ulica 1 beside the Central Market, walkable from Ljubljana’s main station in about 15 minutes. Combine with Ljubljana Castle and the Tromostovje bridges for the main old-town circuit.
