St. Andrä is the parish church of Lienz in East Tyrol, notable primarily for its frescoes by Albin Egger-Lienz, one of the most important Austrian painters of the early 20th century, buried in the church cemetery. Egger-Lienz is little known outside Austria but his paintings of mountain life and WWI are striking and worth seeking out. The church is a 10-minute walk from the Lienz town center. Free entry.
