Silvretta Hochalpenstrasse

A 22-kilometer toll road from Partenen (near Gaschurn) to the Bielerhöhe pass at 2,036 meters, where the Silvretta Stausee reservoir sits against a glacial backdrop. The road is open June to October. The Stausee at the top is a popular photo stop. The drive and the reservoir together make a half-day excursion from the Montafon.

The Silvretta Hochalpenstrasse is a 22-kilometer toll road from Partenen in the Montafon to the Bielerhöhe pass at 2,030 meters, where the Silvretta Stausee reservoir sits against a glaciated alpine backdrop. Open mid-May to late October; toll approximately EUR 18 per car. The road was built in 1952-1954 for hydroelectric access and became a scenic route after the infrastructure was in place.
