Silvretta Arena Ischgl

The ski area connecting Ischgl (Austria) to Samnaun (Switzerland), one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the Alps. 239 kilometers of pistes, high altitude, and snow reliability. The cross-border duty-free shop in Samnaun adds commercial novelty. In summer, the Bike Park and high-altitude hiking replace skiing.

The Silvretta Arena connects Ischgl in Tyrol with Samnaun in Switzerland across 239 kilometers of piste, with the highest terrain at around 2,800 meters ensuring reliable snow from late November to late April. Samnaun is a Swiss duty-free enclave, and skiing between countries for a tax-free lunch is a routine part of the Ischgl skiing day. Day pass approximately EUR 60-70. Ischgl is in the Paznaun Valley reached by bus from Landeck, which has direct train connections to Innsbruck and the Arlberg. The resort also hosts large outdoor concerts at season start and end. Summer Bike Park and hiking are available June to October; check ischgl.com for schedules.
