The Schwarzsee south of Kitzbuehel town center is one of the warmest swimming lakes in Tyrol, a protected moor lake with a public bathing area and views of the Wilder Kaiser range. Accessible on foot or by bike from Kitzbuehel in about 20 minutes. The brown-tinted warm water is typical of moor lakes and comes from organic bottom sediment, not pollution. Small entry fee for the bathing area in summer.
