The Salzachofen gorge at Pass Lueg, south of Golling, is where the Salzach river forces through a narrow limestone canyon, with vertical walls and fast green water. The historic road through the gorge includes a cliff-face tunnel and bridge from the 19th century. Always accessible and free; stop at the Pass Lueg viewpoint above the canyon for the best perspective. On the B159 road south of Salzburg, approximately 30 km from the city; combines well with Golling Waterfall and a drive south to Werfen Ice Cave.
