The Rosenalm is a mountain hut and former alpine pasture above Zell am Ziller, accessible on foot from the valley and staffed as a rest stop on hiking routes into the Zillertal Alps. Seasonally open late June to mid-October; check locally for current status. The Almabtrieb cattle descent in September is the main seasonal event in the valley; timing a visit around it gives a very different character to the trip.
