The Prebersee is a glacial lake at 1,514 meters in the Lungau, the geographically isolated basin in southeastern Salzburg province. The lake is the setting for the annual Preberschiessen, a centuries-old tradition of shooting at targets reflected in the still water. Free access; 6 km from Tamsweg. Tamsweg is on the Murtalbahn rail line. Best in early morning when the lake surface is still. Combine with Tamsweg’s Baroque architecture and the Lungauer Freilichtmuseum for a full Lungau visit.
