Pokljuka Gorge

Also known as Pokljuška soteska

The Pokljuška soteska (Pokljuka Gorge) is a narrow river gorge cut through limestone near Bled, typically combined with a walk on the Pokljuka plateau above it. The gorge takes its name from the plateau rather than from any feature within it; the Pokljuka is a high forested karst plateau used as Slovenia's biathlon training base.

The Pokljuška soteska (Pokljuka Gorge) is a limestone river gorge accessible from Bled, cut through the edge of the Pokljuka plateau above the lake. Free, open access. The gorge trail runs 1-2 hours and is significantly less crowded than the lake attractions. By car, approximately 20 minutes from Bled toward the Pokljuka plateau; the trail is signposted. Combine with the plateau above for half-day walking with forest and Triglav mountain views.
