Piz Buin (3,312 m) is Vorarlberg’s highest summit, on the Austrian-Swiss border at the head of the Silvretta glacier group. The mountain gave its name to the Swiss sunscreen brand. The standard ascent starts from the Silvretta reservoir (Bielerhöhe) above Gaschurn in Montafon, with the Wiesbadener Hütte as the standard overnight base; full-day alpine route requiring glacier travel experience. Access by postbus from Gaschurn. Best July to September.
