The Park Restaurant at Bled is where the kremsnita was invented in 1953. The cream cake, a slab of custard and whipped cream between crisp puff pastry layers, became Slovenia’s most iconic pastry. Every cafe in Bled now sells its own version; the Park Restaurant is where it started. The terrace looks directly across the lake to the island church.
