The Olpererhütte (2,389m) is a mountain hut above the Schlegeis Stausee reservoir in the Zillertal Alps, reached by a 1.5-hour trail from the reservoir. The suspension bridge above the water delivers the Olperer peak reflection photograph. Founded 1881 by DAV Sektion Berlin; current building from 2007. Open mid-June to mid-October; overnight stays at olpererhuette.com. Day visit free. Drive from Mayrhofen via Ginzling to Schlegeis (toll road).
