Twenty-seven white crosses are set into the paving stones of Old Town Square, marking the spot where 27 leaders of the failed Bohemian Revolt were publicly executed on 21 June 1621. Most visitors walk over them without noticing while watching the Astronomical Clock's hourly apostle procession.

Old Town Square is Prague’s central medieval space and one of the most historically saturated squares in Central Europe. Twenty-seven white crosses set into the paving mark the 1621 execution of Protestant leaders after the Battle of White Mountain. The Astronomical Clock from 1410 runs its hourly apostle procession on the Old Town Hall wall. The Gothic twin-towered Tyn Church holds the tomb of astronomer Tycho Brahe.
