The Oetzi Dorf in Umhausen recreates Copper Age life in the Otztal Alps, the valley directly below the glacier where Otzi the Iceman was found frozen in 1991 at 3,210 meters. The 5,300-year-old mummy is now in Bolzano (Italy), but the village provides what the museum cannot: the landscape itself. Reconstructed Copper Age structures, tool and archery demonstrations, and proximity to the Stuibenfall waterfall (Tyrol’s highest, 159 meters) make this a half-day stop in the valley. Open May to October; adults approximately EUR 12-15. Bus from Otztal Bahnhof, about 20 km north of Solden.
