Naturpark Jauerling

The Naturpark Jauerling is a nature park established in 1973 on the Jauerling massif above the Wachau, the wooded highland plateau that rises steeply from the Danube's right bank behind Spitz an der Donau.

The Naturpark Jauerling covers the forested plateau above the Wachau, rising to 960 meters above Spitz an der Donau. The summit gives the best elevated view over the UNESCO Wachau wine region below. Free trail access; check naturpark-jauerling.at for visitor center hours. Spitz is on the Wachau cycling path and regional railway. The 3-4 hour summit hike from Spitz is the main route.
