Prague’s National Gallery is spread across six buildings, but two matter most. The Sternberg Palace near Prague Castle holds European Old Masters including Dürer. The Trade Fair Palace in Holesovice holds Czech and international modern art, and the top floor has Alfons Mucha’s Slav Epic, twenty monumental canvases on Slavic history that lose almost everything in reproduction. The Trade Fair Palace is the least-visited and most worth going out of your way for. Tram to Veletrzni. Tuesday-Sunday; closed Mondays.
