Muntafuner Gaglaweg

The Muntafuner Gaglaweg is a family hiking route through the Montafon valley in Vorarlberg, named in the local Walserdeutsch dialect where Gaglaweg means goat path. The trail connects farms, alpine meadows, and viewpoints across the lower valley terrain around Schruns, following paths that trace the old vertical farming routes between valley floor and summer alps. Start points are accessible from Schruns, which is 30 minutes by Montafonerbahn railway from Bludenz. The trail is free and open; best in summer when the Walser farms are active.
