A tree-lined 4 km canal dug in 1527 to connect Klagenfurt to the Woerthersee for trade. Today it is the city’s main walking and cycling promenade, with cafes along the banks. Walking the full length to the Woerthersee takes about 30 minutes and arrives at the lake beach areas. Free and always accessible from the edge of the Klagenfurt Altstadt.
