Larger, quieter, and more dramatic than Bled, Lake Bohinj sits inside Slovenia’s Triglav National Park with glacial peaks reaching 2,500 meters on three sides. No island, no castle: just clear water and the Julian Alps. Swimming is free from the shore. The Savica Waterfall trailhead starts at the western end; the Vogel cable car reaches the ski area for panoramic summer views. Bus from Bled takes 30 minutes. Allow a half day minimum.
