Keltendorf Salina is a reconstructed Celtic settlement on the Duerrnberg above Hallein, built from archaeological evidence of the actual Iron Age mining community that worked the salt mines on this mountain from around 800 BCE. Open seasonally with the Salzwelten mine; check salzwelten.at for hours and combined tickets. Hallein is 15 km south of Salzburg by train. Best combined with the Salzwelten mine tour and the Keltenmuseum in Hallein town center.
