Karikaturmuseum

The Karikaturmuseum in Krems is one of only three dedicated caricature and cartoon museums in the German-speaking world and the only one in Austria.

The only dedicated caricature and cartoon museum in Austria, part of Krems’s Kunstmeile (Art Mile) cultural campus. Holds the world’s largest collection of works by Manfred Deix, the Austrian cartoonist whose grotesque satires of provincial bourgeois life defined a visual tradition from the 1970s through 1990s. Also holds significant collections of works by Ironimus (Gustav Peichl) and other Austrian satirical illustrators. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00; EUR 14 adults; check kunstmeile.at. Krems is 1 hour from Vienna by train.
