The burial vault of the Habsburg dynasty beneath the Kapuzinerkirche in Vienna’s first district, holding the remains of 145 family members in 107 sarcophagi. Founded 1618, still active: last burial in October 2023. The artistic centerpiece is Balthasar Ferdinand Moll’s Rococo double sarcophagus of Maria Theresa and Franz Stephan (1,700 kg), depicting the imperial couple as if about to rise. The Kaisergruft (Imperial Crypt) beneath the Kapuzinerkirche on Tegetthoffstrasse in Vienna's first district holds the remains of 145 Habsburgs in 107 metal sarcophagi. Founded in 1618 by Empress Anna of Tyrol and opened in 1633, it is still an active burial site: the most recent interment was Archduchess Yolande of Austria in October 2023.
