The Kaiserliche Wagenburg (Imperial Carriage Museum) at Schönbrunn holds the black funeral hearse that carried every Habsburg emperor to the Kapuzinergruft crypt, the gilded coronation carriage built for public spectacle, and Empress Elisabeth’s personal travel carriage with its built-in writing desk. Roughly 170 vehicles in total, housed in the former court stables. Separate ticket and entrance from the Schönbrunn Palace tour; open daily from 09:00. Most visitors to Schönbrunn skip it. Allow 45 minutes and combine with the Spanish Riding School nearby.
