The Heimatmuseum Ebensee at Kirchengasse 6 documents the industrial and cultural history of the salt production town at the southern end of the Traunsee, including the 17th-century salt pipeline from Hallstatt, the soda industry, and the Ebensee concentration camp (a Mauthausen subcamp where over 8,000 people died, liberated May 1945).
