The Hechtsee is a small, clear turquoise swimming lake northwest of Kufstein, warm in summer (up to 24 degrees) with a forest walking trail around the shore. Primarily a local swimming lake rather than a tourist attraction, which keeps the atmosphere relaxed. Always accessible, free. A 5-10 minute drive from Kufstein center. Kufstein is 1 hour from Innsbruck on the main rail line. Combine with the Kufstein Fortress for a half-day.
