The Grunwaldsee at Obertauern is a small mountain lake at 1,740 meters with pedal boats and a calm, family-friendly lakeside in summer. The water is cold but swimmable. Obertauern is almost entirely a winter ski destination with one of Austria’s best snow records; the lake is the primary summer draw, and the resort is quiet compared to peak season. Bus from Radstadt or Bischofshofen rail stations. Combine with a hike on the pass routes for a full day.
