The Gnadenalm at 1,250 meters near Obertauern is an alpine meadow with a Baroque-period chapel and Gasthaus on the historic Tauern Pass road. In summer, when the ski resort above is quiet, the alp has the character of the pass settlement it has been since at least the 17th century. Late June and July bring peak alpine meadow bloom. Accessible by bus from Radstadt or Bischofshofen rail stations. The Gasthaus serves traditional Tauern pass food; the chapel is a simple stopping point for the road.
