The Gamlitzer Landschaftsteiche are landscape ponds set among the vineyard ridges of Gamlitz in southern Styria’s wine country, near the Slovenian border. Free and always accessible; 1 to 1.5 hours by foot through the Sulm Valley ponds and slopes. Gamlitz is the center of the Austrian Sauvignon Blanc and Muskateller tradition, and the ponds are part of the valley floor landscape between the steep wine slopes. Best combined with a tasting at one of the local wine producers and a walk through the vineyard terraces above.
