Gaislachkogl

The Gaislachkogl rises to 3,058 meters directly above the village of Soelden in the Oetztal, and the gondola that reaches its summit carries two of the more unusual things you will find on an Austrian mountain: a James Bond exhibition and a gourmet restaurant designed to look like a spaceship.

The Gaislachkogl at 3,058 meters above Soelden holds two things you do not expect on an Austrian summit: the 007 ELEMENTS James Bond installation, embedded inside the rock after the Oetztal appeared in the 2015 film Spectre, and the Ice Q gourmet restaurant with glacier panoramas through floor-to-ceiling glass. The Gaislachkogelbahn gondola operates summer and winter; in summer the upper station is also the start of high-altitude Oetztal hiking routes. Cable car ticket plus separate 007 ELEMENTS entry fee; book the restaurant in advance. Soelden is 1.5 hours by bus from Innsbruck. Morning visits give the clearest glacier views.
