The Drei Schwestern (Three Sisters, 2,053m) are three peaks on the ridge above Feldkirch on the Austrian-Liechtenstein border. Hiking routes from Feldkirch cross the ridge and the national border with no passport controls (Schengen). Half day to full day from Feldkirch; about 3-4 hours round trip. Views over the Rhine valley, Bregenzerwald, and Allgäu Alps. Free; no formalities at the border. Feldkirch is 30 minutes by train from Bregenz; Vaduz (Liechtenstein’s capital) is 20 minutes by bus from Feldkirch if you want to extend the day. Open May to October.
