The Dorfstrasse is the pedestrian main street of Sankt Anton am Arlberg, running through the center of one of Europe’s most famous ski villages past hotels, restaurants, and après-ski bars. Sankt Anton is where Hannes Schneider developed the Arlberg skiing technique in the 1920s, training instructors who spread it worldwide, and the Dorfstrasse is the social axis of that legacy. Direct trains from Innsbruck (1 hour) and Bregenz (1.5 hours) to Sankt Anton station; the Dorfstrasse is a few minutes’ walk from the platform. Peak season (Christmas/New Year and February half-term) is very crowded and expensive; summer offers the same access to the Arlberg hiking and cycling routes at lower prices.
