Cloak Bridge

Also known as Plastovy most, Mantelbrucke

The Mantelbrucke (Cloak Bridge, in Czech Plastovy most) is the three-tiered covered corridor connecting the upper courtyards of Cesky Krumlov Castle to the Baroque theater and gardens across a deep ravine.

The Cloak Bridge (Mantelbrucke) at Cesky Krumlov Castle is a three-tiered arcaded corridor built in 1767 to connect the castle’s upper courtyards to the Baroque theater and gardens across a ravine. Seen from below in the town, it stacks visibly against the hillside and is the defining image of the castle complex from a distance. Access is part of the castle grounds, free during standard opening hours April-October. Cross it when moving from the main castle toward the theater and gardens.
