The Castle Tower (Zamecka vez) of Cesky Krumlov is the town’s defining visual landmark, a round medieval tower covered in 16th-century Renaissance sgraffito decoration. Climbing it gives the best view of the Vltava River bend that makes Cesky Krumlov’s geography so unusual. Access is through the castle complex with a small entry fee; open seasonally May-October. Allow 20-30 minutes. The narrow spiral staircase is steep; the view from the top is worth it.
