Castle Gardens

Also known as Zamecka zahrada, Schlossgarten

The Baroque (meaning 17th-18th century formal garden style) Zamecka zahrada behind Cesky Krumlov Castle is free to enter and significantly less crowded than the castle itself.

The Zamecka zahrada (Castle Gardens) behind Cesky Krumlov Castle is a 17th-century Baroque formal garden with free entry and significantly fewer visitors than the castle itself. It contains a unique revolving open-air auditorium, one of the rarest surviving examples of Baroque theatrical engineering, used during the summer Baroque Theater Festival. The upper terrace offers a strong view back over the castle and town. Access is through the castle courtyard; open April-October. Allow 30-45 minutes.
